Tellabration 2008

10th Annual Tellabration Event - Join the Nature Center/North Shore Storytelling Guild on Saturday, November 22 by the fireside at the North Park Village Nature Center for two great storytelling programs. First is the Family Program 4:30 - 6 PM , then from 7 - 9 Adult/Teen Program.. Open to all. Scheduled Storytellers include Zane Chait, Suzie Garfield, Elyne Handler, Danny Kafka, Mark Kater and Megan McDonald.
Recommended donation is Children $3 Adults $5. All proceeds go to Local Charity.

Hi all you storytelling fans. I wanted to let you know that beginning Friday, August 8, I will travel to the Cape Cod area and seek out the places my relatives lived. They first arrived in the New World on the ship Hopewell in 1635. I will share incite into searching genealogical places from Lancaster, MA to Boston to Plimoth Rock. If you are interested in researching your family history you might want to keep track of my travels. You can subscribe to the RSS feed at the top of this page. I will be reporting daily and putting up pictures.

Healing Stories
I tell humorous and healing stories twice monthly at Swedish Covenant Hospital in Chicago. I tell stories to adult patients in a group setting. We usually have a lively discussion, swap a few jokes and stories. On occasion I go room to room.

Tongue Waggers Storytelling Class
Tongue Waggers is back. Kids join Storyteller Mark Kater on a fun trip through story land as they create their own stories. This special class is for kids aged 8 and up. Kids improve creative thinking, communication skills, and artistic development.

Earth Day/Arbor Day Celebration
Come out and celebrate the Earth. Animal and Nature stories of the earthwith storyteller Mark Kater. All are welcome at this family friendly event.

Maple Syrup Festival
Saturday and Sunday, March 29 & 30 10 AM - 3 PM This is my 11th appearance at the festival. Storytelling time varies. Starting around 10:30 until 2:30. Cold or wet weather storytelling will be inside. Folks who come out to this free event are treated to various programs including: learning how trees are tapped, how to boil sap into syrup (and tasting it too), guided walks, live music and my stories of spring. Polar Adventure Days
Date: 01/19/08 Start Time: 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM; Storytelling with Mark Kater 2-4 PM  Cost: free  Location : Northerly Island on the Lakefront near downtown Chicago.
Come out and enjoy winter in Chicago at the annual Polar Adventure Days event. In January you can see Siberian Huskies and other live animals, watch as amazing ice sculptures are made, take a horse-drawn carriage ride, listen to storyteller Mark Kater, make a nature craft, explore the island on snow-shoes (if there's snow) and enjoy hot cocoa.
